WHOW offers a series of short highly interactive sessions with women from diverse backgrounds on various topics.
Join us for the first in our Uplifting Women series of Women Honoring Other Women interactive interviews with women change makers. This will be a wide ranging conversation from the deeply personal to the professional. We are excited that our first interview is with Dr. Densie Henning, Director of UNCW/3C Collaborative at University of North Carolina Wilmington; Coordinator of UNCW Community College Leadership. Denise is a past president of 3 Canadian Colleges; a leader in her field; a first nations scholar; a survivor of trauma; a loyal friend; an elder in her community; a radical champion of belonging; and a driver of other women's success. The interactive conversation will be moving and uplifting with Dr. Joan Mcarthur-Blair asking questions and inviting questions.
Join us for our WHOW Online Conversation on February 13th where we will give ourselves a Valentine gift of self-love. Dr. Lindsey Godwin will be joining us to explore and honor the beauty of our diverse identities as women, celebrating the complexities that make you uniquely you. We will inquire into the power of self-love required to embrace the many facets of ourselves with open hearts and curiosity ... which might be a gift even better than chocolate!
Women Honoring Other Women presents "Engaging Fully With Our Complex Identities," hosted by Dr. Ilene Wasserman. As women we come with multiple identities. This session will engage us in conversations around embracing all of who we are. Join us for this conversation on Tuesday, September 19 at noon.
12pm - 1pm EST
We invite all women who attended the Women Honoring Other Women Gathering in Carolina Beach and all who couldn't join us to gather to reflect upon our practice of honoring other women. This will be a highly interactive session of storytelling and reflection. Led by Joan McArthur-Blair & Jeanie Cockell, the session will explore three powerful questions: 1) What is the world calling me to do right now that supports other women? 2) How is my practice of supporting other women uplifting my own work and life? and 3) How am I celebrating myself in the world? Join us for conversation, learning and fun.
12pm - 1pm EST
Please join us as we explore together how we might become aware of, reflect, and cultivate our power and presence, to create impactful experiences and environments as women and as leaders. Our next Online Conversation will be held in alliance with the David L. Cooperrider Center for Appreciative Inquiry.
12pm - 1pm EST
Women of color contribute, enrich, and expand traditional disciplines and contribute to a more inclusive campus environment. Taking time out to engage in self-care, is a way to maximize the best of who we are! Join us to hear about this new information and research "Affinity for Self-Care of Black Women in Higher Education" by Dr. Carine Sauvignon.
12pm - 1pm EST
Conversations are at the heart of everything we do. They are key to effective leadership, high performing teams, and strong relationships. We all know that they influence us, but we rarely stop to think about how much they affect our well-being and our ability to thrive. Our conversations directly influence our present moment and possible futures.
12pm - 1pm EST
